Saigon Hash 1784 – July 5, 2025
LOCATION: start and finish near Suoi Tien metro station, and the run/walk in the areas to the east – all within the boundaries of the former province of HCMC.
The route was just one big loop around the Metro carriage and service depot, but it did include a mixture of urban back alleys and rural forests. Uncle GE, in his run report to the Circle was Trump-style overly complimentary in his praise of the hares, claiming that this was the first time that the SH3 had visited this area – yeah yeah! The run was approx. 9.5km,

This is where it all started, a group of happy hashers waiting for the train at the Opera House Metro station, having paid their vnd 40,000 for a return ticket.
A motley assortment of 15 runners. The photo must have been taken early on as they still appear to be enthusiastic.
A bit of city running until we finally escaped under the railway and into the forests
“No no, mine are bigger than yours”
Actually, just an excuse for an ice cream stop.
Yes, we had the mandatory SH3 “cross the muddy river” event,
… and the usual “looking for paper”,
… and following the leader.

One of the more pleasant parts of the trail.
The GM and his consort giving us their version of the Hokey Pokey “Ya put ya left foot in, ya put ya left foot out, ya put ya beer on ya head and ya shake it all about …”
Not sure what was happening here, but some seem to be enjoying it more than others.
