Run #1781 “The Tale of Two Communes” Hash
This Hash explored in and around the communes of Phú Hội and Phu Hoi. At least that’s
what the pre-publicity said and who am I to argue? We were also reliably informed are in
fact 2 different places.

The runners were guided (rather loosely) by Alowetty as the hare with In N Out supporting.
The start was slow due to a herd of buffalo with some young ‘uns. Sleeper Cell was keen to
run through them, but then again he has (probably) had to outrun Siberian tigers before.

The pace only really picked up once we could put the farmer between us and them.
The route took us through fields and foliage. The shiggy was low level and the underfoot
surfaces varied. The pack soon became strung out like chickens at a wet market.

Forget about the alleged total distance of 8km. It was 7km before we got to the beer stop,
which in fairness was excellent. We were all celebrities during our time there – the locals
were taking more photos of us than an Insta-influencer on a beach in Bali.

The heat and humidity were pretty high, leading to two of the original runners becoming
walkers for the post beer stop section.

Some of that was generally accepted as being the most enjoyable part of the whole route.
That section was a downhill run snaking through the forest and it was great fun.
The total run distance was between 11 and 12km, depending on how much effort you put
into finding the trail, I guess!

Circle was fun and loud like normal; we had some songs, some cold drinks, and some frozen bottoms on ice. Chemically Castrated was charged for losing his sunglasses a couple weeks ago.

The hares were charged to drink plenty for an extra long and shitty trail (of course we thanked them for their effort first). Highlight: I was made to drink from my new shoes. Yes, that’s what happens when you wear new shoes on the hash.
